Kaintuck Band formed in 2017 from a group of musicians living in the LaGrange, Kentucky area. Band members have performed with some of the greats in Bluegrass, including Bill Monroe and his Bluegrass Boys, Michael Cleveland, the Bluegrass Alliance, and New Dominion Bluegrass. The five piece band includes the traditional Bluegrass instrumentation of the five string banjo, fiddle, mandolin, acoustic guitar, and upright bass. The band performs traditional Bluegrass, old country, and a number of original songs. Band members include: Jim Armstrong on fiddle and vocals, Mark Payne on five string banjo and vocals, Sonny Doak on acoustic guitar and vocals, L. W. Johnson on upright bass and vocals, and Bobby Parton playing a hard driving Monroe style mandolin. Come on out for a great show with good food, homemade pie, 50/50 raffle, family atmosphere! Open Highway, a top notch local Bluegrass Band, and long time friends of Sterling Bluegrass Jamboree, will once again grace the SBJ stage, lead by Jim Duty on bass and vocals. This band has changed a lot over the years, but one thing it has not changed, is powerful bluegrass , and wonderful talent that always pleases your bluegrass roots. Don Rigsby is an American mandolinist, fiddler, guitarist, vocalist, and producer in the bluegrass tradition. He is known for his solo career, and for his work with the Lonesome River Band and Longview. He is also a great friend of the SBJ! Come out for this night of fine Bluegrass music, and enjoy good food, family friendly atmosphere and homemade pie too! They have been featured at thousands of festivals and concerts and performed as soloists in more than 230 appearances with orchestras.
